Amanjot gets maiden Indian team camp call | Chandigarh NYOOOZ - Swachh Bharat Mission Cycle rally held in Mohali to spread awareness | Chandigarh NYOOOZ
Mohali August 8As part of the sanitation campaign being run by the Mohali Municipal Corporation a bicycle rally was taken out from Rose Garden Phase 3B1 here to spread awareness about the Swachh Bharat Mission.
The rally was flagged off by Mayor Amarjit Singh Sidhu Senior Deputy Mayor Amrik Singh Somal and Commissioner Kamal Kumar Garg.
Led by Brig HPS Bedi Director “Dil Se Cycle Group” the rally was attended by doctors senior lawyers teachers schoolchildren councillors among others.
It culminated at City Park Sector 68.

Tribune News ServiceChandigarh August 9All-rounder Amanjot Kaur daughter of a Mohali-based carpenter got her maiden Indian probables squad (women) call for the upcoming Australia tour from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today.
The 20-year-old all-rounder has already played for India-A team in the Challenger Trophy for U-19 and U-23 categories.
Two other players Tanya Bhatia and Harleen Kaur who are already part of the Indian senior team from Chandigarh are also called for this camp.
She will leave to attend the probables camp to be held at the NCA Bangalore tomorrow.

6 said there was waterlogging in the area after the rain which started around 2.30 pm.
Jaspreet Singh Gill said sewer water started overflowing from toilets leading to foul smell in houses.

Mohali August 5The Mohali Municipal Corporation will organise a special bicycle rally dedicated to 75th Independence Day here on August 8.
The bicycle rally will be led by Mohali Mayor Amarjit Singh Jeeti Sidhu.
Disclosing this here today Deputy Mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi said the rally would start from Rose Garden Phase 3B1 Mohali at 7 am and end at City Park Sector 68.
Mayor Jeeti Sidhu requested all residents of Mohali to participate in the bicycle rally.

Tribune News ServiceMohali August 7In a setback to former Punjab DGP Sumedh Singh Saini a special court here on Saturday rejected the anticipatory bail application in a corruption case filed against him by the Vigilance Bureau Punjab.
Saini had filed the plea for seeking anticipatory bail through his counsel HS Dhanoya and APS Deol in the court of the Additional Sessions Judge on Thursday.
Saini and six others were booked by the Vigilance Bureau under Sections 109 120-B of the IPC and the PC Act recently.
Saini is accused of helping Punjab XEN Nimratdeep Singh in amassing assets beyond his known sources of income.

Tribune News ServiceMohali August 4The Red Cross Society here has come forward to provide free oxygen concentrators to Covid-19 patients with a dedicated oxygen concentrator bank being set up at the district level.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Komal Mittal said the oxygen concentrator bank was being run by the Red Cross Society at the District Administrative Complex Sector 76.
Mittal said concentrators were being provided to patients on return basis for 15 days.
Mittal said anyone in need can call on 0172-2219526 or contact senior assistant Red Cross Mohan Lal Singla at 94174-95806 to obtain the oxygen concentrator.
