New Delhi, Dec 3 (PTI) The Supreme Court on Thursday granted anticipatory bail to former Punjab DGP Sumedh Singh Saini in the 1991 disappearance and murder case of a junior engineer. - Kangana gets legal notice for fake tweet on Bilkis Bano
Mohali (Punjab), Dec 02 (ANI): Actor Kangana Ranaut, who doesn’t shy away from voicing her opinion on political matters, is now facing legal proceedings for sharing a fake Twitter post which showed the ‘Shaheen Bagh dadi’ Bilkis Bano taking part in the farmers’ protest. Kangana, while retweeting the post, alleged that Bilkis Bano was available as a hired protester for Rs 100. An advocate from Mohali, Hakam Singh, has sent Kangana a legal notice for her fake tweet, and has seven days to issue an apology, and failure to do so will amount to a defamation suit. “I sent a legal notice for a tweet misidentifying Ms Mohinder Kaur as Bilkis Bano with an insinuation that she(Ms Kaur) was available as a hired protestor for Rs100. The notice gives Ranaut 7 days to issue an apology failing which a defamation case will be pursued,” Hakam Singh told ANI.

Mohali (Punjab), Nov 1 (ANI): As the festival of Diwali is approaching, an NGO in Mohali, Gauri Shankar Sewa Dal started making idols and earthen lamps out of cow dung. Ramesh Sharma, its Director said, “We have 1000 cows each in our cowsheds in Chandigarh & Mohali. We decided to utilise the cow dung & used to make sticks & flower pots. We don't intend to sell these idols. People come to us & take them. If they want to pay we ask them to feed cows with the amount.”

- 27,600 litres of chemicals containing spirit seized in Punjab?s Mohali
Mohali (Punjab), Aug 09 (ANI): 27,600 litres of chemicals containing spirit was seized during raids on August 8 during raids in Punjab’s Mohali. The operation was conducted by Excise Department and state police at several factories in Dera Bassi, Mohali. The seized chemical was stored in 136 drums of 200-litre capacity each. Four persons have been arrested in the case including owners of the firms.

- COVID - 19: Mohali gurudwara distributes 'prasad' after Punjab govt's go ahead
Mohali (Punjab), June 10 (ANI): Amid the COVID-19 outbreak, Punjab government allowed community kitchens, langar and serving of 'prasad' at religious places from June 10. Devotees were seen praying at Mohali's Gurudwara Sahib Singh Sahida to offer prayers. Gurudwara started functioning as per government orders and distributed prasad to the devotees. As per MHA guidelines, distribution of Prasad, food and serving of langar is prohibited at religious places. State government has given permission only after physical distancing norms and all COVID hygiene precautions shall be strictly followed.

- COVID: Mohali temple giving 'homeopathic prasad' to devotees for immunity booster
Mohali (Punjab), June 09 (ANI): Sanatan Dharam Temple in Punjab's Mohali reopened their doors for devotees after the government allowed to restart all religious places across the nation from June 08. The temple has invented a very unique idea of distributing prasad to devotees. They are distributing "homeopathic prasad" which "helps" devotees to boost their immunity. "We are distributing homeopathic prasad. In this COVID-19 pandemic, homeopathic prasad help us to increase our immunity," a priest told to ANI. As per the guidelines, consumption of ''prasad'' and ''charanamrita'' (food and liquid offerings), touching and bowing to the ground to greet gods and goddess are barred.
