During the investigation Manjeet Pradeep and Sukhpal were arrested. On June 21 Sandeep told his wife that he was going with his friend Manjeet Singh who needed to collect some payment.       Mohali June 25The Mohali Municipal Corporation will spend Rs95 lakh on the development and maintenance of around 100 parks taken over from GMADA in Sectors 76 to 80 here. Tenders for these works have been passed. Mayor Amarjit Singh Sidhu stated this on the sidelines of inaugurating the work by planting saplings at a park in Sector 78 here. Senior Deputy Mayor Amrik Singh Somal Deputy Mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi and MC Commissioner Kamal Garg were also present. The Mayor said the condition of these parks which were taken over from GMADA was bad.

      Mohali June 25Amid warnings of a possible third wave of Covid-19 Mohali Civil Surgeon Dr Adarshpal Kaur said the District Health Department with the cooperation of the district administration was fully prepared to deal with any such crisis in future. Dr Adarshpal Kaur said: “Though the number of positive cases has come down drastically the second wave is not over yet. However if the third wave comes we all need to be fully prepared to face it”. The Civil Surgeon said every person should get the vaccine without wasting time. Dr Adarshpal said it was important to take precautions even after vaccination.

      Kurukshetra June 24A Mohali resident was found shot dead in his car near a canal at Bodhni village in Pehowa today. Deceased's wife Kuldeep Kaur said on June 21 Sandeep Singh told her that he was going with his friend Manjeet Singh for collecting a payment. On June 23 around 7 pm Sandeep told her that he would reach Chandigarh in two hours. Today Sandeep's body was recovered from his car near a canal at Bodhni village in Pehowa. A case has been registered against Manjeet Singh.

      Mohali June 23Balongi resident Chhote Lal has alleged the police have not done anything except filing a DDR to find his 18-year-old son Shivanshu who went missing 32 days ago from Azad Nagar. According to Chhote Lal his son had gone for a walk outside on the night of May 23 but has not returned since then. Lal alleged that the disappearance of his son was due to the involvement of some youths from Balongi who had an argument with him about 15 days before his disappearance. Since my son went missing they have also not been seen around” he said. According to Chhote Lal the police do not allow him to enter the police station.

It is almost 27000 times lower than that of a refrigerator used at home and only 0.01 degree more than the minimum possible temperature that the laws of physics allow. A dilution refrigerator is a tool that is used to study experimental quantum physics at ultra-low temperatures. The dilution refrigerator functions following a similar process but using liquified helium a rare gas” said Professor Sheet. “We are planning to use the dilution refrigerator for testing superconducting quantum bits the key ingredients of a quantum computer” he said.

      Continuing to remain the leader in the state with one and the only district to cross the 1-million vaccination mark so far Ludhiana inoculated 1074503 persons till Tuesday which included 289276 between the age group of 18 and 44 years. While 242215 beneficiaries in 18-44 age group have got Covishield shots (240816 first and 1399 both) 47061 have been administered Covaxin jabs (46969 first and 92 both doses). The data analysed by the Health and Family Welfare Department which is available with The Tribune showed that Mohali has topped Punjab with the highest per lakh population coverage of 17087 in the 18-44 age group while Fazilka remained the laggard with the lowest 1321 per lakh people inoculation in the youngest age category. In other categories Ludhiana ranked eighth in giving first dose to the people above 60 years at the rate of 56777 per lakh population coverage which was higher than the state's average of 51293 and seventh in fully vaccinating above 60 year population. In the 45-59 age group Ludhiana ranked seventh in giving first shot with 45980 per lakh coverage which was again higher than the state's average of 36627 and third in administering both doses at the rate of 6499 per lakh population which was also higher than the state's average of 4290 per lakh coverage.

The para-athletes had gone to Chandigarh to lay siege to the Punjab Chief Minister's house and return their awards in protest. The protesters started their march from Mohali and when they reached the CM's house the police stopped them. He said the state government had not fixed any quota for the para-athletes while it had given jobs to the sons of the MLAs. Winner of the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Award Sanjeev Kumar said he had won more than 20 medals in badminton sports.

      Chandigarh: A Mohali resident died in a road accident. The police have registered a case against the unknown car driver at the Sector 39 police station. In the first incident complainant Navneet Kumar Paruti a resident of Sector 51 reported that jewellery items and Rs25000 were stolen from his house on June 16. In the other case Hori Lal a Sector 56 resident reported that an LED three pots with artificial flowers and other items were stolen from his house on June 15. A special committee has been constituted to coordinate and review the progress on a day-to-day basis so as to ensure a timely installation of the plants said Aashika Jain ADC(G). Meanwhile a recce of the makeshift hospital site has been done. The vendor and the installation of pre-fabricated structures for the setting up of the 100-bed makeshift hospital is expected to be complete by the month-end. Orders have been placed for two PSA plants at the Civil Hospital Kharar one at Community Health Centre Dhakoli and five at the District Hospital Mohali.

      Tribune News ServiceMohali June 18After the Mohali police failed to arrest contractor Malkit Singh who has been accused of duping consumers of huge amounts of money the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to nab him. In more than 39 cases non-bailable warrants have been issued against Malkit Singh claimed the complainant. “It is proved that Malkit Singh who is intentionally evading the service of warrants of this Commission is bent upon to cheat the process of law” stated the commission. “It is not possible to prosecute and convict him under Section 72 of the Consumer Protection Act 2019 unless or until he is brought to the commission” the commission observed. “Despite our several orders to the district police Mohali in several cases arrest of Malkit Singh could not be effected.
