Tribune News ServiceChandigarh June 4Legendary athlete Milkha Singh is more stable than he was before Chandigarh's Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research said in a statement on Friday.
On the basis of all the medical parameters today his condition has been observed better stable than yesterday.
The 91-year-old Milkha Singh and his wife Nirmal Milkha Singh a former captain of India's volleyball team tested positive for Covid-19 in the last week of May and were admitted to Fortis hospital Mohali.
She was still in Fortis hospital's ICU until Thursday.

Tribune News SeviceMohali May 26As many as 258696 people in three health blocks of the district — Dera Bassi Gharuan and Boothgarh — have been screened for Covid-19 by Asha workers in six days as part of the Mission Fateh-2.
Civil Surgeon Adarshpal Kaur said Covid sampling testing and door-to-door screening survey had been going on in the villages of the district since May 21.
She said the target was to survey 124954 houses in the three health blocks and to cover a population of 625540.
During the first six days Asha workers have completed the survey for 67322 houses and other dwelling places and reached out to 258696 persons and screened them.
The Civil Surgeon said that under the supervision of senior medical officers community health officers multipurpose health workers and Asha workers were visiting village sarpanchs and residents to motivate them for sampling.

The commission also directed the firm to pay Rs 50000 as compensation to complainant Mubarak Masih for causing him mental agony and harassment and litigation cost.
The complainant also claimed that the firm had failed to complete the construction as per the agreement dated September 19 2018.
The construction firm in its reply said the complainant was liable to pay an amount of Rs6284800 for the area measuring 3928 square feet at Rs1600 per square feet.
It directed the firm to refund Rs 1195370 received in excess from the complainant along with interest at 12 per cent within a period of 30 days. - Minister lays stone of govt senior secondary school in Sector 65 Mohali | Chandigarh NYOOOZ

The school will have an ultra-modern triple-storey building constructed in 85900 sq ft area with ample open space.
Tript Rajinder Bajwa Minister for Rural Development who also holds the charge of the Higher Education Department stated this after laying the foundation stone of the school today.
Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla and Health and Family Welfare Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu were also present on the occasion.
Bajwa said the school would have 32 classrooms two libraries and ample laboratories for students of science stream.

The seized heroin is valued at Rs6 crore in the international market.
