The meeting between the two comes amid escalating tensions in the Punjab Congress unit. Punjab police have detained the Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal during a protest against Captain Amarinder Singh in Siswan, Punjab. He was leading a massive protest to remove the health minister of the state due to their inability to procure vaccines and provide the best of healthcare during Covid. The party believed that Congress was busy indulging in vaccination controversies while the state was falling apart and facing acute pressure on its healthcare. - Covid - 19 Latest Updates: New restrictions in Maharashtra; Night curfew in Pune, Panvel and Mohali
Due to a spike in Covid-19 cases in Pune, the Maharashtra government issued strict Covid-19 guidelines for the region on Friday. Schools and colleges have been ordered to close until March 31, and restaurants, malls, and theaters have been ordered to close by 10 p.m. every night. The state government has banned gatherings of more than five people in the district and instituted a night curfew. Every day from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., a curfew will be in effect.As the number of covid-19 cases in Punjab increases, many districts in the state have enforced night curfews and other restrictive measures to prevent the virus from spreading. The night curfew in Mohali and Fatehgarh Sahib will be in place until further notice, according to authorities. In the aftermath of the Covid surge, a night curfew will be imposed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
