Civil Surgeon Dr Manjeet Singh said that as many as six cases were reported from Kurali, four from New Chandigarh, four from Mohali city, two from Kharar, and one each from Derabassi, Balongi, and Nayagaon.

Out of total 761 beds available for Covid care in the district (450 in government facilities and 311 in private), a major chunk -- 685 beds -- is for Level 1 and Level 2 patients. The remaining 76 beds for critical Covid care seem too less for the most thickly populated district of Punjab.

The minister said that high pressure water supply is a long standing demand of Mohali's residents and booster stations are being set up at five places in the city to meet this demand.

“Both officers were found Covid-19 positive two weeks ago, have fully recovered now and have resumed their routine duties as usual since they have completed their isolation period and have tested negative now,” said Deputy Commissioner, Mohali, Girish Dayalan.

Meanwhile, another PGIMER employee, residing on the campus, a 31-year-old man tested positive for the disease. The hospital campus has been regularly reporting new cases of Covid-19, with healthcare workers and their families from across departments testing positive for the disease.
