Mohali August 20Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu today handed over debt-relief certificates to landless farmers of Mohali district under the 5th phase of the debt relief scheme.
Sidhu said: “Loans worth Rs1148.42 lakh have been waived for farmers in the district today.” The main function was held at Anandpur Sahib in which Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh launched the scheme and the state waived loan worth Rs520 crore for 2.85 lakh farm labourers and landless farming members of primary agricultural cooperative societies.
