Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan said in this round vaccine would be administered to all citizens born in 1961 and earlier.
Persons aged between 45 and 59 (born in 1976 and earlier) having specified comorbidities were also eligible for vaccination.
Dayalan said preregistration for vaccination is not mandatory in this round of vaccination as was in the case of healthcare workers (HCWs) and frontline workers (FLWs).
Meanwhile vaccination for healthcare workers and frontline workers will continue along with this round of vaccination.

Seventy eight persons in the age group of 45 to 60 years were inoculated today.
Meanwhile 267 healthcare and 183 frontline workers received their first and second dose of the vaccination today.
Till now 5706 healthcare workers have received their first shot while 2506 workers have received their second shot.
In the frontline workers category 3990 persons have received their first shot while 11 got their second shot.
